When my girls were babies, I had an “Ernest” mask on a stick (You know those movies… the late Jim Varney, “Ernest Goes to Hell,” or wherever). I would play peek-a-boo with the mask… my oldest would start crying every time I covered my face with the mask… it was funny the first couple of times I did it (in an America’s Funniest Home Video lowbrow sort of way)… I ditched the thing soon after… it stopped being funny… Maybe that explains a lot….
